How quickly will my initial enquiry be answered?

My aim is to reply within 24 hours to all enquiries by email.

What happens in the initial consultation?

The initial consultation is for an assessment of your therapeutic needs. This process allows me to form a bigger picture of you, your life experiences and what you hope to gain from counselling. There is no pressure to answer any questions I ask if they make you feel uncomfortable, that is ok. After the assessment you can ask me anything you would like to know and if you feel that you would be comfortable working with me, then you can book a counselling session. Please be assured there is no obligation for you to book a counselling session.

What happens in my first counselling session?

In our first counselling session we will work together on a contract that will cover confidentiality and how we will work together.

How long does my counselling session last?

Your counselling session will last 50 minutes from the start time. If you arrive after the start time this cannot be added to the end of the session.

When do I pay for my counselling sessions?

Payment for your counselling sessions is sent to you 48 hours before the session starts. You will receive a reminder before your session, of when payment is due. If your payment is not received before the 48 hour deadline then I cannot hold your session slot open for you and you will have to rebook.

What happens if I have to cancel a counselling session?

If you are unable to attend your counselling session, please inform me as soon as possible by email. My working hours are 10am to 4pm, any voicemails or texts received after 4pm will not be seen until 10am the following day, so email is the best form of communication.

If the cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice then you will still be charged the full price of the session.

You will not be charged for your session if I cancel.

Do you receive regular supervision?

Yes I have external supervision once a month from a qualified supervisor and is completely confidential.
