Counselling
Asking for help can be really difficult, especially if you’ve never tried counselling before. The first step is always the hardest and stepping into the unknown scary, but with the right support you can begin your counselling journey when you feel ready to.
I can offer a confidential, safe, non-judgemental and welcoming space to enable you to explore the moments in your life that effect your mental health and emotional wellbeing. I also understand that many people have constraints making it impossible to have face-to-face sessions and not being able access a counsellor for support. To make it easy and convenient for you, I offer online counselling services.
Counselling Approach
The counselling approach I work in is called Person-centred. My role as a counsellor is to facilitate the counselling by providing a non-directive way of working. Meaning that I won’t tell you what you need to do, how to feel, give advice or provide solutions. I am here to actively listen, be along side you and support you to explore your own issues, feelings, values and beliefs. This will enable you to become more self-aware of how you can manage the world you live in.
I offer an initial 30 minute consultation to assess your therapeutic needs. This process allows me to form a bigger picture of you, your life experiences and what you hope to gain from counselling. There is no pressure to answer any questions I ask if they make you feel uncomfortable, that is ok. After the assessment you can ask me anything you would like to know about me and Well Self Wellbeing. If you feel that you would be comfortable working with me, then you can book a counselling session. Please be assured there is no obligation for you to book a counselling session.
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes and can be weekly or fortnightly. You can have as many sessions that you need, but to avoid dependency, I work in 6 week blocks with a review at every 6th session to ascertain how you feel you are progressing and if your expectations or goals from counselling have changed.
There is a FAQ page if you have any questions that need answering, but please do not hesitate to contact me for further information.
